Welcome to Tolland Intermediate School
About Us

Established in 2008, Tolland Intermediate School offers a grades 3-5 education to students of diverse cultures. We emphasizes the social, emotional, physical, intellectual development of each child and strive to instill high standards for academic integrity, and leadership in our students. Through our programs, students are given the technology, skills and knowledge to be effective members of our school community and a global society.

Our campus includes state-of-the-art, student-friendly technology, and a great faculty of ambitious teachers ready to give Tolland Intermediate School the best school experience.

At Tolland Intermediate School, we strive to create a school community in which all students feel a strong sense of belongingness and involvement. Our ultimate goal is for every student to walk through our front doors and feel as if T.I.S. is their home away from home.

Upcoming Events

Start with Hello Week February 12 - February 16
Tolland Intermediate School is excited to announce that we will again be participating in Start With Hello Week. Start With Hello is a program founded by the Sandy Hook Promise Organization. The program is designed to bring individuals and school communities together to foster looking out and caring for one another. Young people have the power to see someone, reach out and Start with Hello in order to reduce social isolation and create a more connected and inclusive school. Each student has the power to make a difference and make a new friend. All students and staff will have the opportunity to participate in the following activities:

Monday, February 12th: Hey Day

Everyone wears a name tag. Students and staff will be encouraged to say hello to someone new!

Tuesday, February 13th: Wear Green Day

To promote awareness and call attention to Start with Hello Week. Get connected and say hello!

Wednesday, February 14th: Compliment Day

Students will have the opportunity to write positive comment, compliment or encouraging/kind words to their classmates. Students will then display the written comments on their classroom wall.

Thursday, February 15th: Mix it Up at     Lunch Day

Sit with someone new at lunch, make a new friend! Students will be assigned a new lunch table to sit at for the day.

Friday, February 16th: Uniquely You Day

Students and staff are encouraged to dress up and express what makes them unique.  We are all unique and special.

Optional donations of $1 or more will be collected for the Sandy Hook Promise Organization.
