Evaluation of Student Progress

Overview of SRBI:

· Connecticut has recently adopted a process called Scientific Research Based Intervention (SRBI).

· SRBI is an educational approach used to help all students learn and meet state and district grade-level expectations.

· The goals of SRBI are to help all students learn and address any academic problems earlier in the general education setting.

· SRBI is provided based on the needs of the students.  Data is used to determine the needs of these students.

· Tolland Intermediate School provides interventions to students who are having difficulty in reading and math.  This process is known as  Response to Intervention (RTI).

The Benefits of RTI:

· Interventions help students promptly.

· Student progress is monitored in interventions.

· RTI helps teachers plan instruction depending on individual student needs
