A state of Connecticut reading program, the goal of the Nutmeg program is to encourage children to read quality literature. The Nutmeg Committee, comprised of librarians and teachers, read hundreds of books to determine 10-15 nominees each year. Students have from now until spring to read any of the books. In late spring students across Connecticut vote for their favorite book and choose a winner. Nutmeg books are open to all grade levels to read. Elementary Nominees are recommended for grades 2-4 and Intermediate Nominees are recommended for grades 4-6. Click on the flyers below to see what books made the Nutmeg list this year!
