Students are responsible for practicing basic addition, subtraction, multiplication or division facts nightly for 10-15 minutes. This practice will help to improve fact fluency. Students are also responsible for reading for 15 minutes each night. This reading can be done independently or with a parent. Parents should initial the reading/fact log each day after their child has completed their practice. There may be an additional math or language arts homework assignment given which will reinforce a concept which was taught during the school day.

Agendas
Agendas are very important in Third Grade. They serve as the main communication tool between school and home. Students write in their agenda at the close of every school day. They will write reminders and homework. Please make sure to read agendas daily.

Snack

Birthdays
I know that third graders are always excited about their birthdays. Unfortunately, we cannot have treats to celebrate. There are so many other ways to acknowledge your child’s special day. Here are some ideas: birthday pencils, erasers, or donating a game, book, or cd to the classroom for all of us to enjoy. Thank you for your support with this.
