I teach general music, grade 4 chorus and grade 5 chorus at Tolland Intermediate School. We have a great music curriculum at T.I.S. Our focus is on participating in music through movement, singing, composing, creating, technology, and learning about instruments.
The third graders will learn folk songs, folk dances, fables and folk instruments of colonial America.
The fourth grade curriculum focuses on music around the world. Students learn about the instruments, folktales, dances, songs and games of each culture.
The fifth grade students learn to play the ukuleles as well as learning to compose using standard and graphic notation, and learn about music technology.
